The Overseas Koreans Agency (Director Lee Sang-deok) announced on the 26th that it had hosted the 2nd World Korean Business Forum to support the global expansion of ‘K-Food,’ inviting the Overseas Korean Business Advisory Group (OK BIZ) for the event.

This forum was held in conjunction with the 2024 COEX Food Week (November 20–23). The event saw participation from 20 food industry experts from 12 countries, including the United States, China, Japan, and Germany, as well as 42 domestic food-related companies. Together, they conducted export consultations, resulting in a recorded transaction amount of $14.45 million across 157 cases.

Following the 1st World Korean Business Forum in August in Incheon, which focused on ‘K-Beauty,’ this second forum centered on ‘K-Food,’ aiming to boost exports and open new global markets for Korean food companies.

Jung Yong-jun, an advisor from Germany, remarked, “It was a rare opportunity to experience the excellent products of outstanding food companies participating in COEX Food Week.” Similarly, domestic food and beverage companies that engaged with the advisory group expressed their satisfaction, saying, “Meeting overseas Korean business leaders directly to introduce our products and explore export opportunities was truly meaningful. This event significantly supported our efforts to develop new global markets.”
