To lay the groundwork for foreign investment and global market expansion, Kim Tae-heum, Governor of Chungnam Province and self-proclaimed "Chungnam’s No. 1 Salesperson," actively promoted the region in Las Vegas.
On January 8 (local time), Governor Kim participated in the 2024-2025 Global Top Brand Awards held at the Wynn and Encore Hotel. The event, co-hosted by the Asia Digital Group (ADG), Europe Digital Group (EDG), and TWICE, and supported by the International Data Group (IDG), brought together over 100 global dignitaries.
The event included keynote speeches, a panel discussion on the theme “AI Reshaping Industrial Development,” Governor Kim’s address, and an awards ceremony. As an invited speaker, Governor Kim took the stage before the awards to highlight Chungnam’s economic importance and industrial strengths.
“Chungnam is a manufacturing-driven export leader with strengths in advanced industries such as semiconductors, displays, automotive components, and secondary batteries, as well as consumer goods like cosmetics,” he said. “The region is home to over 330,000 companies, achieving $100 billion in exports and ranking first in trade surplus.”
Governor Kim further emphasized Chungnam’s role as a global hub for semiconductors and displays, introducing the Asan-Cheonan Display Cluster. “This cluster serves as a cornerstone for both R&D and production, contributing more than 20% of the world’s display output,” he noted, positioning Chungnam as a pivotal player in the high-tech digital industry.
