South Korea's leading convenience store chain, GS25, has officially expanded into northern Vietnam by opening its first stores in Hanoi after seven years of operation in the country.

On March 14, GS25, managed by GS Retail, opened six stores simultaneously in Hanoi, including locations in the Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Dong Da, and Cau Giay districts. To boost its brand recognition and influence in northern Vietnam, GS25 strategically selected high-demand tourist and office districts within the city.

In an effort to stand out in the competitive market, the stores vary in size from 115㎡ (35 pyeong) to 540㎡ (164 pyeong), with larger store formats. The stores also feature unique concepts tailored to the local market, such as traditional Vietnamese design, library-style spaces, specialized sections for ramen and alcohol, and an emphasis on fresh food offerings.
