GS25, a convenience store brand operated by GS Retail, announced on the 22nd that its stores in Hanoi, Vietnam, have surpassed 5 million KRW (approx. USD 3,600) in daily average sales, igniting a "K-convenience store" boom.
On March 14, GS25 simultaneously opened six new locations in Hanoi. After solidifying its position as the top convenience store brand in southern Vietnam, centered around Ho Chi Minh City, GS25 is now expanding aggressively into the northern market, using Hanoi as a strategic foothold.
The six new stores are generating an average of 5 million KRW in daily sales. During the launch period, some stores even exceeded 10 million KRW in daily sales—a figure 2.5 times higher than the average daily sales of convenience stores in Korea. This marks one of the most successful openings in the history of GS25 Vietnam.
Each store sees an average of 1,000 customers daily, totaling around 300,000 visitors since opening. Korean GS25 private label (PB) products and Korean-branded items dominated the top three sales rankings across most categories. In particular, Korean food items like tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and gimbap (Korean rice rolls) received an explosive response from local customers.
