KOTRA (President Kang Kyung-sung) and the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (CEO James Kim, hereinafter referred to as Amcham) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at KOTRA headquarters on May 15 to promote business cooperation between Korean and American companies and attract foreign investment in Korea.

Through this agreement, the two organizations agreed to cooperate in expanding trade and investment exchanges between the two companies, carrying out joint projects such as briefing sessions, meetings, exhibitions, and export consultations, and improving the business environment of foreign-invested companies. In particular, the two organizations will play complementary roles as a platform to support Korean small and medium-sized companies to enter the U.S. market and boost domestic activities of U.S. companies.

"This business agreement is expected to improve Korea's business and regulatory environment for foreign-invested companies, attract more foreign direct investment, and contribute to Korea's establishment as a business hub in the Asia-Pacific region," said James Kim, chairman and CEO of Amcham. "We hope that close cooperation with KOTRA will solve structural tasks and create new opportunities for U.S. companies that have entered Korea."

KOTRA President Kang Kyung-sung said, "We hope that this cooperation with Amcham will serve as a bridgehead for our small and medium-sized companies to enter the U.S. market, and we will continue to strengthen our activities to expand shared growth and exchanges between companies in the two countries."
