GS25, a convenience store operated by GS Retail, announced on the 5th that it will push for activities to build strategic cooperation infrastructure with overseas distribution and manufacturing companies.

The plan is to establish a cooperative infrastructure by launching GS25's exclusive brand (PB) product, △ Yours △ Real Price △ Jumbo Ramen series, to local distribution channels and directly sourcing popular overseas products and introducing them to GS25 stores in Korea.

GS25 became the first Korean distributor to participate in "Typex," a food fair in Bangkok, Thailand, which was held for five days until the 1st, to materialize its activities to build global cooperative infrastructure. "Typex" is the largest food trade fair in the Asia-Pacific region, with more than 3,200 companies from around the world participating and 80,000 people observing.

GS25 set up a booth for the fair that was implemented in the form of a real GS25 store, and dispatched seven GS Retail import and export MD teams composed of import and export experts to Bangkok, Thailand to hold consultations with officials from overseas companies.

First of all, GS25 held close consultations with 82 companies in 32 countries, including Thailand, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and the UAE.

Thanks to the K-ramen craze, PB ramen, such as Jumbo Ramen Series and Omori Kimchi Stew Ramen, received particular attention, while Real Price products, which are cost-effective PB, also attracted explosive attention in the aftermath of the economic recession.

GS25 has already started detailed export discussions with 12 companies, and plans to proceed with exports in earnest within this year after coordinating detailed contracts such as volume.

Through its participation in the "Typex," GS25 has produced results not only in exports but also in import-related areas. It has discovered 13 new overseas partners with excellent productivity by focusing on consulting with various overseas companies that want to enter Korea.

GS25 plans to source famous overseas products around 13 new overseas partners and introduce them as differentiated products at GS25 stores in Korea. Intensive sourcing procedures are being carried out for products in five categories, including snacks, drinks, noodles, snacks, and HMR, and will be released sequentially through GS25 stores nationwide as early as August.

GS25 predicts that by strengthening its capabilities such as building global import and export infrastructure, it will be able to exert a positive influence across the industry by strengthening the competitiveness of differentiated MDs of GS25 merchants and penetrating the export path of excellent small and medium-sized suppliers.
