The Korean Cultural Center in Hungary (Director Yoo Hye-ryeong, hereinafter referred to as the Cultural Center) will host the 17th Hungarian Korean Film Festival (17. Korean Filmfesztivál) at the Corbin Theatre in Budapest for eight days from Oct. 11 to Oct. 18. The Hungarian Korean Film Festival, which marks its 17th anniversary this year, is a major international film festival in Hungary, which started as a small event called "Korean Film Week" in 2007 and has now established itself as the largest Korean film festival in Europe in the Middle East.
At this year's festival, a total of 23 films will be screened in four sections: △Friss, △Arcok, △Focus, △Extra, special. In particular, the opening film, "The Tomb" will be screened for the second time in continental Europe and for the first time in Hungary since its screening at the Berlin International Film Festival earlier this year. In addition, all eight of the latest releases in the Fris section, including "Spring in Seoul" and "Comment Unit," will be screened for the first time in Hungary.
In addition, environmental documentaries are presented in the focus section dealing with social issues. It is expected that Hungarian local audiences who are actively participating in environmental protection activities will be actively participated in environmental issues by spotlighting documentaries on the environment, wildlife, and ecosystems such as Under the Neotree, Sanctuary, and Sura.
Considering the theme, the festival goods are made of reusable cloths to convey environmentally friendly meanings and Korean traditions. The center will explain the tradition of cloths through its social networking site, and introduce and promote various ways to transform them into packaging materials, bags and scarves.
