The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MCST), led by Minister Yoo In-chon, will hold the event ‘Korea Season in Korea360’ on February 21st and 22nd in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ahead of the opening of the ‘Korea360’ overseas promotion center. The event will feature a performance of Korean drama theme songs, fusion gugak (traditional Korean music), and various Korean cultural experiences.

Since October of last year, the MCST, in collaboration with the Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange (KOFICE) and the Korean Cultural Center in the UAE, has been running the ‘2024 Korea Season’ in the UAE, which will continue through April of this year. The ‘Korea Season’ selects countries with significant Korean Wave (Hallyu) influence every year to introduce Korean culture through cultural performances, exhibitions, tourism, and content. The initiative plays a key role in promoting Korea as a leading nation in culture and the arts. In the UAE, 13 performances, exhibitions, and cultural experience events have been held in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

‘Korea Season in Korea360,’ the 12th event of this season, will take place in Dubai, the UAE’s largest city, and is a collaborative effort with the Korea Creative Content Agency's UAE Business Center. The event will feature popular Korean drama theme songs and fusion gugak performances at the indoor performance hall of the ‘Korea360’ venue, while the exhibition space will host fan signings, Korean cultural experiences, K-pop promotions, and screenings of Korean drama trailers. Artists like K.Will, Gummy, and the fusion gugak group Queen will be participating. This performance is expected to attract attention not only from local Hallyu fans but also from those who have recently developed an interest in Korea through the ongoing ‘Korea Season’ events, providing a preview of the upcoming ‘Korea360’ overseas promotion center.
