As the first exhibition in 2024, the Türkiye Korean Cultural Center (Director Park Ki-hong) announced that it will hold the 5th "Writing Flower" group exhibition of outstanding students in the calligraphy course at the center from Jan. 24 to Feb. 29 in the exhibition room on the fourth floor of the center.
This exhibition is rich with 25 folk paintings on the theme of Blue Dragon, 14 literary paintings depicting the four soldiers of Peony Gukjuk, and cushion works mixed with various techniques to mark the 2024 Year of the Blue Dragon.
There were also several works that were combined with traditional Turkiye art, including "Skiing Blue Dragon," "The Book of Blue Dragon," "Turkiye Guardian God," "Ante Cavill and Dragon," and "Yongsan Munmu King," which were well received by more than 100 audiences.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition was held in the order of a congratulatory speech by Park Ki-hong, head of the Korean Cultural Center, and greetings from Kang Ae-hee, a lecturer in the calligraphy class at the Korean Cultural Center. In this congratulatory speech, Kang Ae-hee thanked the students of the calligraphy class who always created their works with tireless passion, saying, "I will not forget the humility and excitement when I first started as a guidance teacher, and I will do my best to prepare for the calligraphy exhibition every year."
Eze, a student participating in the exhibition, said, "It was a good experience to learn calligraphy and to learn and experience Korean culture closely at the same time," adding, "The view of the dragon was also new because there seemed to be a big difference between the West and the East."
Director Park Ki-hong said, "I am proud to look back on my three-and-a-half-year term and appreciate the works of our cultural center's calligraphy class students who grow every year. The sustainable spread of the Korean Wave seems to be creating a party where local Hallyu fans can naturally portray Korean culture and form a consensus."
The group exhibition, which marks its fifth anniversary this year, will welcome visitors to the exhibition room of the Türkiye Korean Cultural Center until the last day of February.
