According to the Korean Cultural Center in Germany (Director Yang Sang-geun), a radio program that specializes in K-pop music will be established for the first time in Germany. Fritz Radio, a music channel of Germany's public radio broadcasting (RBB), said in a press release on October 10, "We will establish a 'Best Music K-Pop' program from October 14 to introduce K-Pop music professionally from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m."

RBB said in the press release that it has been a long time since Korean pop culture has established itself in the daily life of Germans, and that it plans to introduce the best songs among K-pop through a new radio program in the future. The broadcaster expressed its expectation for the new program, which will cover all the topics related to the Korean Wave, including the introduction of the biggest hits and new idol groups, as well as Hallyu dramas. Justin Timpe, who has been in charge of program planning and broadcasting, is a prominent German broadcaster, a K-pop expert and a big fan of K-pop himself.

Until the new program was established, the Korean Cultural Center in Germany contacted the broadcasters for months and said that the "K-pop Specialized Program" could be organized when the program was reorganized this fall through the process of instilling confidence in the competitiveness of Hallyu contents and discovering and discussing contents necessary for broadcasting together.

"Best Music K-Pop" is available not only on Fritz Radio, the website (www.fritz.de ) and the app, but also on the rerun at MediaTek (www.ardaudiothek.de ), the online archive of Germany's first public broadcaster (ARD). "Best Music K-Pop" is broadcasted every two weeks on Monday, alternating with the "Best Music Oriental Pop" program, which covers Asian music. Yang Sang-geun, the head of the cultural center, visited the broadcasting company in person and recorded the opening remarks of the program, "Best Music K-Pop on Fritz Radio with Justin Timpe" in Korean. Yang's opening remarks are introduced in Korean whenever the program starts.
