The "2024 Korea Grand Sale 2024," which was held for 50 days from January 11 to February 29 by MCST (Minister Yoo In-chon) along with the Visit Korea Committee (Chairman Lee Bu-jin, hereinafter referred to as the Visit Committee), ended successfully attracting 120,000 foreign tourists, the largest ever.
"Korea Grand Sale" is Korea's representative shopping tourism festival that has been going on for 13 years since 2011 based on the participation of various private companies such as aviation, lodging, shopping, food, experience, and convenience services to attract foreign tourists and promote tourism consumption during the off-season (January-February) in Korea.
This year, under the theme of "Your Special Moment in Korea," more than 1,653 companies participated in the event, providing various discounts and experiences from the moment of booking a trip to Korea to the moment of leaving Korea, including aviation, shopping, lodging, food, experience, transportation and convenience services.
First of all, nine domestic airlines, including ▴ Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, and Jeju Air, sold 87,500 discount tickets through the "K-Travel Promotion" event (up up to 521% from the previous month on the number of sales on certain routes, and estimated about 120,000 sales as of February 16, 24. / 24. 2. 29. In the experience product exhibition held in conjunction with global online travel agencies such as ▴ Creative, Klook, KKDay, and Trip Dotcom, they sold more than 10,000 tourism products (up up to 414% from the same period last year).

In addition, 21,770 foreign tourists visited the Welcome Center, which is operated by Myeong-dong, Hongdae, and Seongsu, which are frequented by foreign tourists, more than twice as many as last year. The Welcome Center provided a "coupon book" that contains event information as well as benefits from participating companies, while various participating events such as purchase receipt events and winter sports experience events were held to promote consumption in local commercial districts, adding to the joy of traveling to Korea. 6,542 foreign tourists (314% higher than the last event) participated in the purchase receipt event, contributing to the revitalization of commercial districts for regional co-prosperity.
