Daejeon Civic Symphony Orchestra composed of young musicians under the age of 39 was founded

This year, the Daejeon Arts Center (Director Kim Deok-gyu) expanded various cultural and artistic activities of young artists in Daejeon and support projects for prospective artists to expand the base of culture and art through the daily life and diversification of art, and further strengthen the welfare of citizens.

First, the Civic Symphony Orchestra was founded to lay the foundation for the growth of young musicians in the region.

The Daejeon Arts Center established the Daejeon Citizens' Symphony Orchestra in June this year, consisting of young musicians under the age of 39. It is to enable young musicians with excellent skills to solidify their position as professional performers without leaving Daejeon and to be active.

The Civic Symphony Orchestra presented friendly and colorful performance programs to revitalize local performing arts and expand opportunities to enjoy civic culture. It impressed and delighted countless citizens, including "visiting concert" (7 times), "house concert" (3 times), "cooperation) performance (5 times), "Daejeon Arts Center 20th Anniversary Concert," "Daejeon 00:00 Festival," "Open Concert in Bomunsan Forest," "Jamboree Celebration Performance" and "Citizen's Thank You Year-end Concert."

At the Changdan Concert in October, it emerged as a young group with dynamism and creativity, showing its potential as a professional symphony orchestra. Although it is a short period since its foundation, it has been praised for showing its capabilities to the fullest through 16 performances.

In addition, the Citizens' Symphony Orchestra broke the 39:1 competition rate and made news of producing a permanent member (double base) of the Daejeon City Symphony Orchestra. In 2024, it plans to increase 30 people and expand it to a large-scale orchestra with 80 members.
