The largest number of visitors to a single event since the 93 Daejeon Expo...70% of foreign tourists

Safe festival, clean festival...It's a festival to save the local economy

It is a festival that people around the world enjoy together by strengthening the competitiveness of content

While the Daejeon 0 o'clock festival ended on the 17th with an all-time box office hit, it was analyzed that it was the largest single event since the 1993 Daejeon Expo.

Daejeon City estimated the number of festival visitors at 1.1 million, the largest number of single events held in Daejeon since the 1993 Daejeon Expo.

Among the visitors to the festival venue, tourists outside Daejeon accounted for more than 70% of the total visitors, which is based on big data from mobile phone carriers, and the Daejeon 0 o'clock festival seems to have had a great effect on the influx of tourists.

In addition, despite the gathering of more than 1.1 million people, the event was successfully completed without a single safety accident, which can be seen as the result of citizens' high-quality safety awareness and thorough safety measures prepared by lessons from the Itaewon accident.

It is evaluated that 372 safety management personnel and 119 paramedics were deployed at all times a day to prepare for emergencies, and managing the crowd density in real time using an artificial intelligence screening control system also contributed to the creation of the accident-free festival.

Everyone agrees that the festival has given new vitality to the original downtown economy, which had been losing vitality.

Food ingredients in the food zone ran out early, and stores that moved into the building recorded more than twice as much sales as usual every day. Restaurants were constantly waiting in line, and some stores posted sales of more than 20 million won a day.

There was also no problem with the rip-off fee at the festival site, which has recently become a social issue. This is the result of efforts to prepare to welcome guests by introducing a price display system in the food zone and conducting customer prize events for each merchant association. Rather, a food zone where draft beer can be refilled indefinitely for 10,000 won appeared, making headlines.

This festival deserves to be remembered as a garbage-free clean festival. The food zone, which operated until dawn, as well as the 1km-long venue, maintained a clean environment to the point where there were no pieces of tissue.

Environmental management personnel and volunteers frequently emptied separate collection boxes, cleaned up trash from the venue, and worked hard to create a clean festival environment.

Meanwhile, Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo said in a briefing on the results of the 2023 Daejeon 0:00 Festival on the 21st, "We will further supplement the insufficient parts and strengthen content competitiveness to grow the Daejeon 0:00 Festival into a world-class festival where you can enjoy the fun and charm of Daejeon."

Mayor Lee cited ▲ the record of the largest number of visitors to a single event since the 1993 Daejeon Expo ▲ a safe festival without big or small accidents ▲ an economic revitalization festival that saved the original city economy ▲ the creation of a clean venue without waste.
