MCST(Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) (Minister Yoo In-chon) KOCIS(Korean Culture and Information Service) (Director Kim Jae-hyun) is actively promoting 'Gangwon 2024' with 31 overseas Korean cultural centers in participating countries so that the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games (hereinafter referred to as Gangwon 2024) can be successfully held.
Thirty-one Korean cultural centers abroad have set up "Gangwon 2024" promotion centers in lobby and reception hall, while raising the Olympic atmosphere in the host country before the competition is held by conducting Korean cultural events in connection with the competition and promoting it online with major local media.
The "Gangwon 2024" promotional center displays various Olympic promotional products using mascot "Mungcho" and the competition emblem, screens official promotional videos for "Gangwon 2024," and also operates a winter sports experience space where you can ski or enjoy curling yourself with virtual reality (VR) content.
In addition, Korean cultural centers overseas are creating the Olympic atmosphere by linking Korean cultural events and Gangwon 2024. The Korean Cultural Center in Shanghai held a Korean paper craft experience event and held a quiz contest titled "Gangwon 2024" to give Korean snacks such as snacks and instant noodles as prizes. The Korean Cultural Center overseas in Hungary invited 50 local content creators (influencers) and produced a promotional video for "Gangwon 2024." The Hungarian national team is also actively participating in various local Olympic events, holding Korean cultural performances and wishing for good performance.
