The Korean Traditional Performing Arts Foundation (KOTPA) (Chairman Kim Sam-jin) will hold a contest for works of the 2023 Regional Traditional Performing Arts Support Project.

This year's newly established "Local Traditional Performing Arts Support Project" was designed to foster local traditional art organizations and lay the foundation for continued growth. It is expected to contribute to developing a unique repertoire and revitalizing local traditional art by intensively supporting local traditional performing arts organizations.

The contest will select and support about 20 traditional performing arts works with more than one performance. Organizations that can be supported must have at least two performances per year in the last three years under the name of the organization in the application area and in the non-metropolitan area. The selected works will receive up to 40 million won depending on their size and characteristics, and two performances will be presented to local residents at local performance halls or performance facilities.
