Clio’s ‘Essential Lip & Cheek Tab’ Hits the Japanese Market… Accelerates Offline Store Expansion

Clio has introduced its ‘Essential Lip & Cheek Tab’ to Japan, and it has received a strong response from local consumers, leading to rapid expansion into offline stores.

The ‘Essential Lip & Cheek Tab,’ which can be used for both lips and cheeks, was released as part of the 2024 F/W collection. Since its launch, it has gained significant popularity, ranking first in the cheek category on Qoo10 Japan. In December of last year, a makeup video by beauty influencer Son Ami, who has 600,000 followers on TikTok, went viral, with 2.5 million views, significantly boosting the product's popularity.

By the fourth quarter of last year, the product had entered around 700 stores, including Japan’s largest variety shops such as Loft and Plaza. Thanks to explosive initial consumer response, Clio has received offers from various distributors, and starting in April, the product will also be available in major local drugstores.

In just the first quarter of this year, an additional 240,000 units were ordered, bringing the total to 340,000 units to date. In May, the launch of new colors will help meet the growing demand, and Clio is making every effort to secure enough supply to handle the surge. Since establishing its Japanese subsidiary, Clio Japan, in June 2024, the company has quickly stabilized its organization and is now focusing on increasing its market share.
