The Overseas Koreans Agency (OKA, Director Lee Sang-deok) officially relocated its Incheon branch office from Songdo to Terminal 2 of Incheon International Airport (2nd floor, Government Integrated Administration Center) on December 2, and began full operations.
The opening ceremony, held at 3 PM on the same day, was attended by key officials, including Lee Sang-deok, Director of OKA; Yoon Joo-seok, Director-General of the Consular and Safety Bureau at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Shin Yeon-jung, Policy Advisory Committee Member of OKA; Kim Yeon-sik, Head of the Overseas Korean Services Support Center; Kim Young-geun, Head of the Overseas Koreans Cooperation Center; and Kim Beom-ho, Vice President of Incheon International Airport Corporation.
With the new branch now located at Incheon Airport, overseas Koreans traveling in and out of Korea are expected to enjoy more convenient access to administrative services. Shin Yeon-jung remarked, “The OKA’s branch is not merely an administrative space but a bridge connecting overseas Koreans with Korea. Moving this office to Incheon Airport is a strong gesture of understanding and consideration for overseas Koreans.”
Director Lee Sang-deok highlighted in his commemorative speech the significance of the branch as the first touchpoint for many overseas Koreans reconnecting with their homeland. He urged greater interest and utilization of both the Gwanghwamun Integrated Service Center and the Incheon branch.
Starting from 9 AM on December 2, the Incheon branch has been offering comprehensive consultation services in coordination with the Gwanghwamun Integrated Service Center. These services include support in diverse areas such as nationality, immigration, military service, taxation, family relations, employment, veterans affairs, education, national pensions, health insurance, and driver’s licenses.
