Hamyang County held the "2024 Agricultural Export Consultation Event with Chinese Buyers" on December 3 at the Insanga Training Center. The event was attended by over 50 participants, including Hamyang County Mayor Jin Byung-young, Hamyang County Council Chair Kim Yoon-taek, NongHyup Hamyang County Branch Manager Noh Chun-seok, and other key stakeholders. The event culminated in a significant export agreement worth $24,000.

Thirteen Chinese buyer companies participated in the event, engaging in one-on-one export consultations with 16 local Hamyang export companies. These consultations aimed to open new opportunities for Hamyang’s agricultural products in the Chinese market.

To capture the interest of the Chinese buyers, an exhibition space showcasing a variety of export products from participating companies was set up at the entrance of the venue. As a result, contracts totaling $24,000 were signed, with companies such as Jeongga Foods, Chaeyeonga, and Geunongbu securing agreements. These initial shipments will test the market response, with plans for formal contracts based on the results.

In addition, Hamyang County signed a memorandum of understanding with a Chinese import-export trade company to promote the export and sales of Hamyang’s agricultural products in China. Both parties pledged continued collaboration to achieve these goals.

Mayor Jin Byung-young stated, “Following the dispatch of a market exploration team to China in July, we have actively engaged promising buyers and invited them to Hamyang. Based on this achievement, the county will continue to promote Hamyang’s agricultural exports and support income growth for local exporters through robust marketing initiatives.”
