The Overseas Koreans Agency (OKA, Director Lee Sang-deok) has invited 441 next-generation overseas Koreans from 31 countries to experience and learn about Korea.

The 7th Next-Generation Koreans Homeland Invitation Program, which began on January 13, includes 253 participants from 31 countries, while the 8th Program, starting January 14, welcomes 188 youth and university students from the same number of countries.

This week-long program aims to enhance participants’ pride in their heritage by allowing them to explore Korea’s culture, history, and advancements. The program is organized by the Overseas Koreans Cooperation Center, an affiliate of OKA.

During the 7th program, participants will visit Seoul, Buyeo, and Daejeon to experience both traditional and modern Korean culture, including K-pop. They will also learn about Baekje’s maritime achievements, such as its influence on Japan’s introduction of Chinese characters. Additionally, participants will have hands-on experiences with science and technology, including space exploration exhibits and augmented reality sports at the National Science Museum.

The 8th program is tailored for university and graduate students, focusing on history and cultural experiences in Seoul, Busan, and Incheon. Participants will also engage in global leadership programs addressing issues like climate change and international cooperation.
