
On January 31, Lee Sang-deok, Director of the Overseas Koreans Agency (OKA), met with Yoo Jeong-bok, Mayor of Incheon, at Incheon Metropolitan City Hall in Namdong-gu. During the meeting, Director Lee requested Incheon’s active participation and cooperation in the 23rd World Korean Business Convention and various other initiatives led by OKA to support overseas Koreans.
Director Lee highlighted that the 23rd World Korean Business Convention will be held from April 17 to 20 at the Gas South Convention Center in Atlanta, USA. He emphasized that OKA aims to leverage the global network of overseas Korean entrepreneurs at the event to facilitate the expansion of Korean small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into the North American market.
Additionally, Director Lee outlined OKA’s key policies and projects to support overseas Koreans residing in Korea, particularly those living in Incheon. He urged the city to provide strong backing and cooperation to enhance support for the local overseas Korean community.
Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok expressed his commitment to actively supporting both the successful hosting of the 23rd World Korean Business Convention and OKA’s initiatives to assist overseas Koreans living in Incheon.
Moving forward, OKA plans to work closely with local governments to provide customized educational programs and support private organizations related to overseas Koreans in Korea, further strengthening their settlement and integration into Korean society.
