
On February 13, Lee Sang-deok, head of the OKA, met with Hong Mun-pyo, president of the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT), at the aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seoul. During the meeting, Lee introduced the 23rd World Korean Business Convention, which will be held in Atlanta, USA, from April 17 to 20, and requested aT’s active support in encouraging the participation of Korean food and agricultural companies.
Lee emphasized that K-food has captured the tastes of people around the world and expressed his intention to attract overseas buyers specializing in food and distribution to the event. He plans to actively support the entry of Korean agricultural and food companies into the North American market.
In response, Hong Mun-pyo expressed his commitment to cooperating fully with the 23rd World Korean Business Convention to increase exports of leading domestic food and agricultural companies.
Lee and Hong also agreed to not only focus on this event but to utilize the Overseas Korean Business Network to support the global expansion of domestic food companies and continue the global K-food trend. They also discussed plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between their two agencies.
