Governor Kim Tae-heum of Chungcheongnam-do expressed concern over the rapid increase in electricity demand in the era of artificial intelligence (AI), pledging to implement policies aimed at energy innovation across all businesses in the province.
Currently visiting Singapore to attend the Asia Climate Action Summit as the Under2 Coalition’s Chair for the Asia-Pacific region, Governor Kim participated in the "EP100 Energy Efficiency Roundtable" held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on April 8.
EP100 is a global initiative led by The Climate Group, the secretariat of the Under2 Coalition, aiming to reduce carbon emissions and accelerate the transition to clean energy by improving energy efficiency in businesses.
More than 20 representatives from international organizations and corporations attended the meeting, including Governor Kim; Nicholas Kellen, Senior Manager of Energy Systems at The Climate Group; Hadrianus Wibek, Senior Manager at Carbon Trust Southeast Asia; Esther An, Chief Sustainability Officer at City Developments Limited; and Souruchi Kheradmand, Global Head of Sustainability at Schneider Electric.
