The Korean American Police Advisory Committee (Chairman Jung Young-yeol) welcomed a delegation from the Yeongdeungpo District Council, including Chairwoman Jung Sun-hee and 16 council members, at its office on September 4.
The meeting was organized to share the activities of the Korean American community and the committee, while also broadening exchanges and mutual understanding between the two sides.
Welcoming the delegation were Executive Chairman Zeus Hong, Advisor Choi Young-bae, and about ten other executive members.
The council members listened to presentations on the various activities of the Korean American community as well as the main initiatives of the committee, and also received a briefing on the public safety situation in New York and New Jersey.
The two sides engaged in meaningful discussions comparing the public safety systems of Korea and the United States and explored possible cooperation to enhance the safety of the Korean community.
Chairman Jung Young-yeol stated, “The visit by the Yeongdeungpo District Council delegation is an important opportunity to expand exchanges between the Korean American community and local councils in Korea, and to confirm the potential for mutual cooperation. We will continue to work actively for the stability and development of the Korean community.”
The visit was widely regarded as a valuable step toward strengthening mutual understanding and goodwill, with expectations for continued exchanges and collaboration in the future.
