AROKA U.S. Branch of South Korea Holds Ceremony to Celebrate 71st Anniversary of Korean War Armistice

At 11 a.m. on July 26, AROKA USA Branch (Chairman Choi Man-kyu) and AROKA LA Branch (Chief Pere Seitz) held a ceremony to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the Korean War Armistice at the 40th Division, a division of the Korean War in Los Alamitos, attended by more than 300 veterans, veterans, and active soldiers.

At the 71st anniversary of the armistice, Chairman Choi Man-kyu thanked the veterans in his welcoming speech, saying, "I am grateful for the sacrifices, dedication, and humanity of the 40th Division soldiers who defended peace on the Korean Peninsula and the world with freedom and valor during the war and established Gapyeong High School."

During the 1992 Koreatown riots and the Black life's Matter incident, the 40th Division was dispatched to Koreatown to maintain the order of Koreatown and returned home safely from May 2023 to May after dispatching the Spartan Operation, an Asian stabilization operation in the Middle East.

To honor the security of the Korean town and the successful mission of sending troops, the Korean Association of Eastern Los Angeles (Chairman Choi Hyun-moo) participated in the event and delivered a plaque of appreciation to the 40th Division on behalf of the Korean community, and the LA branch of the Korea-U.S. Association (Chairman Kim Young-gu) also participated to pledge the determination of a new Korea-U.S. alliance.
