South Chungcheong Province to Expand Economic Territories in Central Asia…Talks on Strengthening Exchanges with the Republic of Kyrgyzstan

South Chungcheong Province will expand its economic territory in Central Asia by seeking ways to strengthen exchanges with the Kyrgyz Republic in many ways, following Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

The province announced on the 22nd that Governor Kim Tae-heum and Ayda Ismailova, ambassador to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, discussed cooperation between the two regions in the external reception room of the Chungnam Provincial Government.

The main contents include △ Strengthen cooperation in economic exchanges in Central Asia △ Strengthen cooperation in international compatriots such as Koreans △ Strengthen cooperation in foreign workers △ Revitalize exchanges for international students.

At the meeting, Governor Kim welcomed the Kyrgyz Republic ambassador's visit to the province and said, "Chungnam is expanding exchanges and cooperation with Central Asia. In May, we visited Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to strengthen cooperation in various fields such as economy, education, culture and art."

Governor Kim then said, "There are more than 1,000 Korean companies operating in the Republic of Kizugiz, and the two countries are strengthening cooperation in various fields such as agriculture and renewable energy," adding, "We hope you will join forces to exchange and cooperate with Chungnam in various fields such as economy, agriculture, and cultural tourism."

The Republic of Kyrgyzstan is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union and is a major region that can serve as a bridgehead for Central Asia, Ambassador Aida Ismailova said. "I hope that the cooperative relationship between the Republic and the province will expand further in various fields such as economy, manpower, and culture."
