National fencing team players Oh Sang-wook and Park Sang-won from Daejeon City Hall are further enhancing the brand value of Daejeon, a leading sports city.

Oh and Park won the gold medal in the men's sabre team final on Thursday, the fifth day of the 2024 Paris Olympics, defeating Hungary. Oh is the two-time gold medalist following the individual event.

Oh is the "Original Daejeon Man" who was born in Daejeon, graduated from Maebong Elementary School, Maebong Middle School, and Songchon High School, and graduated from Daejeon University's Department of Social Sports. He returned home in 2019 when the Daejeon City Hall Sabres team was founded in Seongnam City Hall in 2022.

There was also a slump after the Tokyo Olympics, but Oh ranked first in the men's individual Grand Prix in Seoul in 2023 through steady rehabilitation, and presented Korea's first gold medal in the individual event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Park Sang-won, who collaborated for the team gold medal, also joined Daejeon City Hall in 2023 after graduating from Korea National Sports University through Maebong Middle School and Songchon High School.

Swimming Cho Sung-jae also made the record of reaching the semifinals as No. 1 overall in the preliminary round in the first Olympic breaststroke event in Korean swimming as a member of Daejeon City Hall.
