OKA held the second plenary session of the OKA Policy Advisory Committee on August 30 in the conference room on the 36th floor of the OKA building located in Songdo, Incheon, presided over by Commissioner Lee Sang-deok.
The meeting was attended by honorary professor Park In-ki of Kyungin National University, Vietnam K&K Trading Chairman Ko Sang-gu, Inha University Professor Lee Jin-young, Yonhap News Overseas Koreans Specialist Reporter Kang Sung-chul, World Korea Newspaper Editorial Director Choi Byung-cheon, Lee Young-hwan, CEO of Transitional Justice Working Group, and Shin Yeon-jeong, a member of the next generation committee living in the U.S., and Kim Young-gil and Choi Mi-young, who are living in the U.S., attended online.
"In a situation where the number of overseas Koreans residing in Korea is increasing and policy demand for social integration is emerging, support for settlement of domestic Koreans is a new policy agenda that OKA should think about and establish a system," said Lee Sang-deok.
In addition, he explained, "OKA is working in various ways to establish a customized policy and total care system for Koreans differentiated from immigration policies for foreigners."
The advisors expressed active sympathy for the timeliness and importance of the domestic Korean settlement support policy at a time when the local population continues to decline, and agreed to faithfully play the role of advisors so that the projects promoted by OKA can achieve practical results.
