
The 22nd National Assembly election overseas vote held at the San Francisco Consulate General closed on April 1, bringing the final total to 2,481 voters, 56.3% compared to 4,403 electors.
Meanwhile, the turnout for overseas elections in Korea's 22nd National Assembly election reached the highest ever in the general election.

The National Election Commission said on Tuesday that 62.8 percent of the 22nd parliamentary elections were cast for overseas elections. According to the commission, a total of 92,923 (62.8 percent) of the 147,989 voters overseas participated in the overseas elections.
Overseas voting was held for six days from March 27 to April 1 at 220 polling stations in 115 countries (178 overseas missions) around the world.
The number of voters by continent is 47,647 in Asia (62.8% of the vote), 26,341 in the Americas (56.5%), 14,431 in Europe (73.5%), 2,904 in the Middle East (74.0%), and 1,600 in Africa (79.3%).

Kim Ji-young, an overseas election officer at the San Francisco Consulate General, said, "I'm happy to end the voting without incident and I'm proud of the high turnout," and explained, "The ballot boxes collected from each region will be mailed to Korea on April 4 in a return envelope and will be counted along with the domestic vote on the 10th."
Choi Jeom-kyun, chairman of the San Francisco Regional Overseas Election Commission, said, "I thank the election commissioners for their hard work in fair election work," thanking the election commissioners and announcing that they will disband the election commission around May 10 when the election work is completed.
